What an incredible year it's been so far. I can't believe it's already November. This year went even faster than last year.
Up until the past month it has been somewhat uneventful. We have learned to live with Lori's conditions and know what to do to make the most out of the energy she has. It's pretty much become routine. I guess that's a good thing. Every now and then we try something new but usually regret it.
Traveling is hard on her. Anything over three hours really does a number on her body. We've come up with quite a solution though. We put the seats down in the SUV and I set up a Twin size blow up bed, complete with sheets, blankets and pillows. There's not much room left for luggage but Lori sure is comfortable. It has allowed us to travel a bit more this year than we have previously. Don't get me wrong... it's not like we're going on vacations all the time
She took up baking this year (thanks in part to her KitchenAid mixer she received for her birthday). It took a bit of figuring out just how to do it since, as you know, she can't stand for more than a couple of minutes. Now that she has all her tricks figured out she has become quite the baker. Makes everything from scratch. M-M-Mmmm.
On the Doctor front we think we finally found a good rheumatologist this year. We've been to her three or four times now. That's a good thing. Having doctors that listen and understand all of Lori's conditions, or are at least willing to deffer to the doctor that does understand the condition is really hard. This doctor seems to do all of the above.
She also is seeing her Neurologist again and has a new doctor, an Otolaryngologist (Ear Nose Throat). More on that in the next post.
... still can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving.
